The Ultimate Decision

"4 Years"

Luke 3:23 “Now Jesus himself was about thirty years old when he began his ministry,…”

The ministry of Jesus was approximately four years. In four years Jesus transformed the world. He led twelve disciples through a journey that not only changed them but gave them the courage to start spreading the gospel to the world. Our calendar is based upon BC and AD. In four years Jesus accomplished his goal because he knew his purpose.

DO YOU KNOW YOUR PURPOSE?

Each of us has greatness within him or her. Remember, God created you and me. The reason most of us don’t live up to our potential is that we don’t have a purpose and that we haven’t set any goals. Purpose needs passion and when you have a passion about something then you need to set goals to get things done. You may have been told all your life you are nothing but I’m here to tell you that through Christ you can become great.

It took Jesus four years but lets start today with a five year plan. Write down what you want to have accomplished in five years. Is it to raise your children in a godly home so that they will be secure in their faith? Is it building a better marriage that nothing can harm? Is it building a business and encouraging others to catch the same vision you have? Is it being a missionary and ministering in the United States or abroad? Jesus has not created us to be a channel surfer. It’s easy to relax on the couch and just veg out. If we have a purpose and a goal we will find ourselves wrapped up in our passion and encourage instead of flounder.

Also, having a passion without a goal is like a ship without a rudder. The big ship will be going strong and fast but in a million different directions. I know many people that have great talent but don’t have a goal. They could become great if they focused and planned.

It is our job to become great for the Lord. The Lord makes everyone perfect. Find your talent, your passion, and go for it. There is nothing worse than wasted talent. If you think the ship has already left the dock, think again. Colonel Sanders from Kentucky Fried Chicken was turned downed countless times and didn’t start his venture till he was in his late 50’s. It is NEVER too late to start.

Don’t ever live a life saying “I should’ve _____________”. The past is gone. What are you going to do moving forward. Since the Lord has not taken you yet, there must be two reasons.

  1. You aren’t a believer and he is trying to let you make that decision to accept Him before you take your last breath.
  2. If you are a believer and then assured of heaven, THEN the Lord must have something else for you to do. What is that something else?

I have a saying on my refrigerator that says”

“What you are is God’s gift to you, what you become is your gift to God.”

Have you given up or are you going to find your passion and act on it.

IT’S NEVER, NEVER, TOO LATE TO START.

Four years changed the world. Find your passion, set a five year goal, ask the Lord for guidance and you will do great things.
